Define and manage Grail external datastores in Dynatrace with the External Datastores API to query data from external sources with Grail.

Overview

The Dynatrace Grail External Datastores API lets you define the external datastores that Grail uses to query data from external sources. You can list, create, read, update, partially update, and delete external datastore definitions by name. Typical usage includes automating datastore setup across environments and keeping datastore definitions under version control.

Authentication

Platform API endpoints use Platform token and OAuth client authentication. Attach a platform token or OAuth access token to the Authorization HTTP header using the Bearer scheme.

--header 'Authorization: Bearer <platform-token-or-oauth-access-token>'

For details, see Tokens and authentication and Platform tokens.

  • List external datastore definitions (GET /external-datastore-definitions)
  • Create an external datastore definition (POST /external-datastore-definitions)

  • Replace an external datastore definition (PUT /external-datastore-definitions/{storeName})

  • Partially update an external datastore definition (PATCH /external-datastore-definitions/{storeName})
