Breaking changes
Oracle Database hostname verification
Infrastructure Monitoring | Extensions 2.0
Oracle Database now verifies the hostname in the certificate. As a result, the domain from the certificate must match the one from the endpoint passed in the monitoring configuration.
Enhanced SSL support for SQL server
Infrastructure Monitoring | Extensions 2.0
All monitoring configurations using SSL are required to have the certificate added to the truststore.
New features and enhancements
Fine-tune security user permissions
Application Security | Vulnerabilities
In Account Management, a new View security problems permission in the Security admin group allows you to configure, per environment or management zone, which users can view but cannot manage vulnerabilities (cannot change their status). For details, see Fine-tune permissions.
Kubernetes: five new OOTB workload alerts added
Infrastructure Monitoring | Kubernetes
The following new alerts have been added to the workload anomaly detection settings:
- Detect out-of-memory kills
- Detect job failure events (Alerts on any occurrence of Kubernetes events with reason 'BackoffLimitExceeded', 'DeadlineExceeded', or 'PodFailurePolicy'.)
- Detect pod backoff events (Alerts on any occurrence of Kubernetes events with reason 'BackOff', as observed on pod statuses 'ImagePullBackOff', and 'CrashLoopBackOff'.)
- Detect pod eviction events (Alerts on any occurrence of Kubernetes events with reason 'Evicted'.)
- Detect pod preemption events (Alerts on any occurrence of Kubernetes events with reason 'Preempted', or 'Preempting'.)
Kubernetes: important properties for workloads and pods
Infrastructure Monitoring | Kubernetes
Workloads and pods pages now display important properties in the sub-header section.
VMware: new settings schema
Infrastructure Monitoring | VMware
VMware settings schema builtin:cloud.vmware
has been removed (replaced with new schema builtin:virtualization.vmware
).
Any fixtures related to permissions to modify VMware settings that you have set have no further effect unless they are changed to use the new schema.
Remote configuration management (RCM): host tags and properties
Infrastructure Monitoring | OneAgent
You can now use remote configuration management (RCM) to set host tags and properties remotely on the Dynatrace server.
Security policy guide in settings pages
Cross Solutions | Settings
Most settings pages where an admin can manage access via security policies now have a new context menu action that enables the quick creation of a policy statement.
Central management of OneAgent host properties and host tags
Infrastructure Monitoring | OneAgent
You can now add, edit, and remove host properties and tags via the Dynatrace web UI and API.
Warning when host is running out of host units.
Infrastructure Monitoring | Hosts
A warning is now displayed on the host page when the host is unmonitored because the host unit quota has been reached.
W3C header configuration
Apps & Microservices | Distributed traces
The W3C header configuration section has been moved to the OneAgent features configuration. Go to Settings and select Preferences > OneAgent features.
SSL support for database extensions
Infrastructure Monitoring | Extensions 2.0
Starting with ActiveGate version 1.269+, DB2, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SAP Hana extensions will support SSL, where this option will be disabled by default.
