ActiveGate release notes version 1.297
Rollout start: Aug 13, 2024
With this release, the following are the oldest supported ActiveGate versions.
For details, see How long are versions supported following rollout?.
Announcements
End of support for private Synthetic locations on Red Hat/CentOS 7
Chromium development for Red Hat/CentOS 7 stopped at version 126. For important security and stability reasons, we've decided to discontinue our support for installing Synthetic-enabled ActiveGate on Red Hat/CentOS 7 after ActiveGate version 1.305. We plan to have ActiveGate version 1.305 as the last Synthetic-enabled ActiveGate supported on Red Hat/CentOS 7. Additionally, with Dynatrace version 1.306, we plan to introduce mechanisms preventing Synthetic-enabled ActiveGates on Red Hat/CentOS 7 from being updated beyond version 1.305.
- Since Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 reached End of Maintenance support on June 30, 2024, all of its packages have been archived. This means that it may not be possible to find the required dependencies for update.
New features and enhancements
Unconnected UDP mode for SNMP
Infrastructure Observability | Extensions
Starting with this release of ActiveGate, SNMP extensions can be configured in the extension configuration with a new optional advanced property: Unconnected UDP.
When Unconnected UDP is turned on (default: off), the UDP socket becomes unconnected.
- Responses from a different address (other than the address to which the request was made) are accepted.
- Any ICMP packets originating from such an SNMP request are ignored.
ActiveGate self-monitoring metrics
Infrastructure Observability | ActiveGate

ActiveGate
- For Kubernetes pods with another pod as owner, a standard artificial 'pod' workload is now correctly created. The actual pod owner is not taken into account. (K8S-10504)
Installer
- ActiveGate Linux Installation logs now include more detailed information about update failures caused by non-removable ActiveGate autobackup data from a previous update. (DMX-7167)
