Synthetic-enabled ActiveGate version 1.183 introduces support for Chromium version 78 and is backward compatible with the currently used version 73. To take advantage of the new Chromium version on Linux, you need to update it using the Dynatrace-provided installation packages. On Windows, the new Chromium version is bundled with the ActiveGate installer.
For instructions on updating Chromium on Linux, see Create a private Synthetic location.
Ubuntu 12.04 reached the end of Extended Security Maintenance in April 2019. Consequently, starting with ActiveGate version 1.183 it's no longer supported. See vendor information.
Starting with ActiveGate version 1.183, we support Ubuntu 18.04. Note that this doesn't apply to synthetic-enabled ActiveGates.
Depending on your internet access and speed, ActiveGate update may take a long time, and the installer may appear to have stopped responding even though the installation is in progress.
Let the update process finish. If you cancel while the new version is still downloading, you will not have any working ActiveGate installation on this host.
If you canceled the ActiveGate update and unintentionally removed the ActiveGate installation from your host:
Make a copy of the content of the %PROGRAMDATA%\dynatrace\gateway\config
folder.
This folder contains configuration files or backups of configuration files from the removed ActiveGate.
Install ActiveGate with the old configuration files still in the %PROGRAMDATA%\dynatrace\gateway\config
folder.
Verify that the old configuration files have been included in the current ActiveGate configuration files.
If they are not, manually copy selected settings from your backup to the current ActiveGate configuration files.
