End of support for private Synthetic locations on Amazon Linux 2

Chromium development for Amazon Linux 2 stopped at version 126. For important security and stability reasons, we've decided to discontinue our support for installing Synthetic-enabled ActiveGate on Amazon Linux 2 after ActiveGate version 1.307. We plan to have ActiveGate version 1.307 as the last Synthetic-enabled ActiveGate supported on Amazon Linux 2. Additionally, with Dynatrace version 1.308, we plan to introduce mechanisms preventing Synthetic-enabled ActiveGates on Amazon Linux 2 from being updated beyond version 1.307.

End of support for private Synthetic locations on Red Hat/CentOS 7

ActiveGate version 1.305 is the last Synthetic-enabled ActiveGate supported on Red Hat/CentOS 7. These platforms are no longer supported on version 1.307 and later.

Updated Synthetic installer to use JRE 17.0.13

To take advantage of performance improvements, the latest security-vulnerability enhancements, and bug fixes, we've upgraded JRE to JRE 17.0.13+11.

New features and enhancements

Added new field "Container image digest"

Infrastructure Observability | ActiveGate

The "Container image digest" is now retrieved, persisted, and shown on the container properties page.

The containerImageDigest was added to the semantic dictionary. This field is written based on the observability level.

Prerequisites:

  • Kubernetes platform monitoring with ActiveGate requires ActiveGate version 1.291+ and the new Kubernetes experience to be enabled for that cluster.
  • Application observability or Infrastructure observability requires OneAgent version 1.307+.

The new field is written in addition to the existing fields containerImageId and containerImageName.

Improved handling of OOM

Infrastructure Observability | ActiveGate

ActiveGate now always shuts down on an OutOfMemoryError and is restarted by Watchdog or Operator (depending on the deployment type).

Ubuntu 24.04 for Synthetic-enabled ActiveGate

  • Ubuntu 24.04 (uses Chrome for Testing)

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.8, 8.10, 9.2, 9.4
  • Oracle Linux 8.10
  • Rocky Linux 8.10, 9.4

Chrome for Testing 131 is the latest supported version for Synthetic-enabled ActiveGate installed on:

  • Amazon Linux 2023
  • Ubuntu 24.04

Chromium 132 is bundled with the Windows ActiveGate installer.

    • Vulnerability: The Apache Tomcat libraries have been updated in response to CVE-2024-50379. (DAQ-3555)
    • ActiveGate extension modules: in the case of a corrupted module version, the version is normalized to allow for successful module update. (MGD-2961)

    Synthetic Monitoring

    • Vulnerability: In Synthetic metric adapter, the crypto package has been updated to v0.32.0, and the net package has been updated to v0.34.0, in response to CVE-2024-45337 and CVE-2024-45338. (DEM-3878)
