Analyze user sessions of mobile applications
In today's digital consumer environment, having a mobile-first strategy for the marketing of your business is imperative. Whether your users visit your web offerings via a mobile browser or use a downloadable native or hybrid mobile app, your business success depends on a high-performance user experience. This is why Dynatrace is dedicated to a mobile-first monitoring strategy that offers a wide spectrum of technology insights into the mobile user experience.
By default, user session analysis shows all of the user sessions in your environment—across web, mobile, and custom applications. To focus your analysis only on mobile applications, you need to add one filter.
To view user sessions captured in mobile applications
- Go to Session Segmentation. The User sessions page opens.
- In the Filter by box, select Application type:
Mobile
to display mobile user sessions. - optional To further focus your analysis, you can add more filters, such as operating system version, manufacturer, error count, and user experience score.
- Select a timestamp of the required user session to navigate to the user session details page.
Dynatrace captures user sessions from custom applications as mobile user sessions. Built-in metrics are captured without the indication whether it's a mobile or a custom application. For more details, see Built-in classic metrics.
