This guide covers how to update a registered tenant connection from the Dynatrace Classic SaaS format to the latest Dynatrace platform model.
Classic SaaS URL domains (*.live.dynatrace.com) and API Access Tokens (dt0c01.*, dt0s01.*) are no longer supported for the new platform capabilities. Updating enables full access to Dynatrace platform features so you can make the most out of
Dynatrace Extensions.
Starting with version 3.0.0 of
Dynatrace Extensions, the Environments view will highlight in red any SaaS environments that are misconfigured. You should aim to edit their configuration following this guide.
In addition,
Dynatrace Extensions will surface a notification for each environment that does not comply. You can edit configuration details from the notification's button or view an in-editor version of this guide.
Follow the Platform tokens documentation to create a platform token and ensure it has the following scopes:
extensions:definitions:readextensions:definitions:writeextensions:configurations:readextensions:configurations:writeextensions:discovery.jmx:readextensions:discovery.pmi:readstorage:buckets:readstorage:metrics:readstorage:entities:readstorage:smartscape:readsettings:objects:readcredential-vault:entries:readcredential-vault:entries:writecredential-vault:entries:adminCopy the token—it will start with dt0s16
Open the environment settings (select Edit on the tenant in the Environments tree view) and replace the non-compliant details.
If your current URL uses the classic domain, you must update it to the platform domain, for example:
https://abc12345.live.dynatrace.comhttps://abc12345.apps.dynatrace.comReplace the old token with the new platform token created in Step 1.
Continue through the remaining steps to save the updated details.
After saving, the icon of this environment should no longer be red.
You can now also expand the node to view a list of extensions available in the environment.
