Extensions 1.0 end of life

OneAgent and ActiveGate version 1.299 are the last versions supporting OneAgent and ActiveGate Extensions 1.0 framework. You can continue using Extensions 1.0 if you stay at OneAgent or ActiveGate version 1.299. Note that this means you'll be using an unsupported Python version 3.8. We strongly recommend migrating your extensions to the latest Extensions 2.0 framework.

Deprecated

ActiveGate version 1.175+ has the plugin module installed by default.

To run ActiveGate extensions, you need to install the ActiveGate on a host that has access to your remote technology.

  1. In Dynatrace Hub, select ActiveGate.
  2. Select Set up.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions. Choose the default Route traffic, monitor cloud environments, monitor remote technologies with plugins installation option.

Next steps

After successful installation, you should see two running services:

  • Dynatrace Gateway—responsible for running ActiveGate
  • Dynatrace Remote Plugin Module—responsible for running the ActiveGate plugin module
