Building a Dynatrace app?

Use the @dynatrace-sdk/client-service-level-objectives SDK client instead of calling this API directly — it handles authentication, typing, and the environment URL for you. This REST reference is for external and automation use.

Overview

Dynatrace Service-Level Objectives API lets you manage service-level objectives end to end, from discovering reusable objective templates to creating, updating, retrieving, and deleting individual SLOs. It also supports SLO evaluation workflows, so you can start an evaluation, poll for its progress, and either collect the result when it finishes or cancel it if you no longer need it. Typical usage includes automating SLO lifecycle management, standardizing objective definitions across teams, and integrating SLO checks into operational or reporting workflows.

Authentication

Platform API endpoints use Platform token and OAuth client authentication. Attach a platform token or OAuth access token to the Authorization HTTP header using the Bearer scheme.

--header 'Authorization: Bearer <platform-token-or-oauth-access-token>'

For details, see Tokens and authentication and Platform tokens.
