New features and enhancements

Metric events filter update

Platform | Davis AI

The following operators are now available for Metric key events.

Entity filter:

  • equals
  • does not equal
  • starts with
  • does not start with
  • contains (case sensitive)
  • does not contain (case sensitive)
  • contains (case insensitive)
  • does not contain (case insensitive)

Dimension filter:

  • equals
  • does not equal
  • starts with
  • does not start with
  • contains (case sensitive)
  • does not contain (case sensitive)

Role-based authorization is the only allowed method for new AWS credentials

Infrastructure Monitoring | AWS

Key-based authorization is not available for new credentials anymore. For existing key-based credentials, you can keep using keys indefinitely. We recommend to switch to role-based authentication using the dedicated button on the configuration page. Dynatrace automatically checks the configuration to ensure the correct configuration of roles.

The US Gov and China partitions continue to support key-based authentication.

Additional criteria for SLO selector

Automation | SLOs

In the GET all SLOs API call, the sloSelector parameter now supports two additional criteria: managementZoneID and managementZone. Each criterion supports a single-value input.

Fine-tune host coverage

Application Security | Vulnerabilities

On the Application Security overview page, Host coverage is now displayed as a standalone section and provides separate information for third-party and code-level vulnerabilities. This way, you can dig into your supported, monitored, and excluded hosts and evaluate the impact of your host coverage based on a single Runtime Vulnerability Analytics functionality at a time. For more information, see Host coverage.

Assign ownership in the Dynatrace UI

Automation | Ownership

We added a dedicated Add ownership component to the Ownership side panel of the unified analysis page. It enables a simple way to add ownership tags to entities. Its primary purpose is testing and demonstration of ownership tags assignment. To assign ownership at scale, we recommend using metadata or Kubernetes labels instead of tags.

Kubernetes UI updates

Infrastructure Monitoring | Kubernetes

  • You can now check the pod IP address in the Properties and tags section of the pod details page.

  • The Pods table now includes a column with IP addresses of pods.

  • The Calling and Called workloads are now displayed on the Topology card on Workload and Kubernetes service pages.

The Topology card relies on Istio metrics. If Istio is not installed or properly configured to report metrics, the Topology card may not be displayed.

Docker extension disabled by default

Infrastructure Monitoring

The Docker link has been removed from the Dynatrace menu, and the Docker extension is now disabled by default.

Resolved issues

General Availability (Build 1.267.89)

The 1.267 GA release contains 17 resolved issues (including 1 vulnerability resolution).

Cluster

  • Vulnerability: Resolved an issue in the configuration API in Extension Framework 1.0. (TI-6681)
  • Fixed, the UI navigation issues resulting in HTTP 404 error on certain pages while using Safari browser older than v. 16.4. (EXA-6417)

  • Updated the information pop-up for the "Use Docker container name to distinguish multiple containers" option in "Built-in detection rules" for process group detection to explain that the option applies only to Docker outside container platforms. (HOST-2398)
  • Removed reference to host units in the description of "OS Services monitoring" settings. (HOST-2633)
  • The dashboard global filter selector now works correctly for custom dimensions. (EXA-6074)
  • Fixed an issue in which the "Architecture" property didn't appear on the new Windows/Linux/AIX host page. (HOST-2933)
  • Corrected colors on the host page, "Host performance" section, "CPU usage" graph: "CPU idle" color has been changed from blue to gray. (HOST-2645)
  • Automatic configuration migration for Anomaly Detection (Host) no longer overwrites Alerting/Dealerting event thresholds settings with default values. (HOST-2691)
  • Resolved issue that caused "Log viewer" table visualization crash. (EXA-6009)

ActiveGate

  • ActiveGate no longer produces occasional one-minute gaps in Kubernetes and Prometheus metrics. (K8S-5604)
  • Updated the installation command for Cluster ActiveGate to specify "/bin/bash" to run the installer. (DMX-3789)

User interface

  • Updated in-product announcements concerning the deprecation of "Custom charts" functionality. (EXA-6016)

analyzer framework

  • Fixed "Data explorer" correlated metrics issue that sometimes resulted in no chart displayed for the reference series. (DAVIS-4551)
