Dynatrace Business Observability connects application performance and user experience to business metrics, enabling business and IT teams to collaborate through shared real-time perspectives. Business Observability leverages business flows, dashboards, and notebooks to achieve the precision that many business use cases demand.

Dynatrace Business Observability with Insights combines a Dynatrace team with extensive industry knowledge and cross-vertical expertise with Dynatrace's advanced Business Observability product capabilities. This offering is designed to align your business and IT teams around shared outcomes by accelerating Business Observability adoption, maximizing value, leveraging proactive notification and automation, and providing advanced analytics and training.

Delivery model

Business Observability with Insights is a fully remote, subscription-based product offering designed to provide continuous value over the term of your Dynatrace Platform Subscription (DPS). Guidance is delivered through a combination of remote working sessions and executive summaries intended to continuously refine your business observability outcomes throughout the subscription term.

Each subscription focuses on one business process at a time. You can purchase additional subscriptions to focus on multiple business processes in parallel, either within the same business area or an entirely new business area. For example, one subscription enables engagement for a single business process, whereas three subscriptions allow three distinct business processes to be engaged simultaneously.

A business process refers to an operational workflow comprised of a series of related activities or steps designed to collectively deliver a business outcome. A business process is characterized by:

  • A clearly identifiable start and end point
  • A consistent sequence of tasks or events
  • An intended business outcome

Illustrative examples include a mortgage application at a retail bank, making a claim at an insurance company, or similar workflow-based operations.

Product adoption and acceleration

  • Creation and tuning of Business dashboards and Business Flows to visualize data from the Business Observability module.
  • Assistance with capturing and configuring Business Event data from sources including, but not limited to, the Dynatrace OneAgent, the Dynatrace API, and extraction through OpenPipeline.
  • Guidance and assistance on refining Business Event data through processing in OpenPipeline.

Proactive notification and automation

  • Application of anomaly detection to help track and understand Business KPIs derived from Business Event data.
  • Ongoing guided implementation of automations via Workflows to trigger, either routinely or in reaction to detected anomalies, actions such as automated reporting of data, triggering actions in third-party solutions via API integrations, and sending notifications to individuals or groups.

Advanced analytics and reporting

  • Creation of customized dashboards and notebooks to provide analysis of insights captured from business event data, tailored to certain scenarios as guided by you.
  • Monthly analysis and recommendations: executive readout pack summarizing progress, insights, and prioritized next steps.
  • Proactive analysis of captured business data to identify areas for further visualization and anomaly detection, as guided by you. Where bottlenecks or areas for concern might be caused by IT issues such as application performance, Business Observability with Insights assists with fault domain analysis, with recommendations on available additional troubleshooting resources.

An active Business Observability with Insights subscription is required. This offering does not constitute Professional Services or Support, and is separate from Digital Experience Monitoring with Insights. Dynatrace does not guarantee that this offering will result in any specific business outcomes, metrics, or improvements.
