Notebooks
Notebooks are something you read. They're great for:
- Training and enablement
- Documentation and launching
- Ad hoc data analysis and troubleshooting
- Analyzing complex incidents that require a deeper investigation
- Pulling together various metrics, logs, and traces from different sources into a single view
- Collaboration, enabling team members to share their analysis and insights
Data in a notebook is stored within the notebook.
Dashboards
Dashboards are something you view. They're great for:
- Continuous, real-time monitoring of applications, services and systems
- Visualizing and tracking key metrics and performance indicators
- High-level overview of your system's health
- Regularly tracking performance against service level objectives (SLOs) and identifying anomalies or performance degradations
Data in a dashboard is queried when the dashboard is opened.
