You can forward AWS logs to Dynatrace from multiple sources. Select an ingestion method based on where your logs originate and how they flow through your AWS environment.
The two ingestion methods are complementary. Depending on your AWS setup, you can run either method independently or use both in parallel for different source types.
Use the S3 log forwarder when logs are already delivered to S3 and you want event-driven ingestion without routing through CloudWatch Logs and Firehose.
Use CloudWatch Logs via Firehose when your logs are already in CloudWatch and you want a fully managed, auto-scaling streaming pipeline to Dynatrace.
